Happy 4th of July

We started out the day with a nice forty minute bike ride along Lake Shore Drive, until we finally found our friend Jason's BBQ. Jason owns a bar called The Long Room and every year they have a big BBQ with lots of food and beer. We had a great time hanging out with friends, making new ones, and eating and playing ball. What a great day!


Here is Owen in his Burley, which he has a love/hate relationship with. We never know if he is going to enjoy the ride, or scream the entire way. But we think it is worth the risk.

I could not have staged this picture better than the actual thing. This is Owen running after the balloon man yelling, "Bvoom, bvoom!"


Then our friend Cheryl came when she got off work. She dances for Hubbard Street. Owen was attached to her until we left. At one point he got up from our little picnic blanket and ran through a sea of people to find her. (See below.)




This is a picture of Owen pointing to the boys playing volleyball, saying his favorite word, "ball!"
