6 MONTHS !!!!

At 6 months old, Teagan...

likes to chew on her fingers,

make funny faces,

drink from a sippy cup and eat avocado,

and of course, make more funny faces.

She continues to adore her big brother and laugh at him all the time. She is an amazingly calm baby, who rarely cries and when she does it is pretty obvious what she needs. She is still sleeping pretty regularly, thank goodness. She is starting to "talk" more using some repetitive sounds, and has some pretty intense laughs, giggles, and snorts. SHE IS A HAPPY BABY AND WE COULDN'T LOVE HER ANY MORE!!!!

He Did What?!

Because my dear husband thinks I should post the bad along with the good {and sometimes ugly}, I am sharing something my darling little boy did the other day. I swear there isn't a week that goes by where I don't feel like my life is short clips being recorded for God's great big movie. Sometimes they are scenes from a comedy, a tragedy, a love story, and in this case a horror film.
Shortly after Teagan was born we joined the local YMCA, which has been a very good investment. Mike and I get to work out, I take yoga classes with Amy, and they have a wonderful kids program. Owen has taken a few classes too. They also have a separate building for daycare that is pretty impressive. So the other morning I was running late for yoga, but thought I had just enough time to drop the kids off and run over. Owen however, was upset that all the kids and counselors weren't outside on the playground and wouldn't come all the way into the building. [They have two doors that you have to go through.] I thought I would drop Teagan off and then coax Owen to come in. In the meantime, he tries to go back out to the playground by himself. As I am coming back to get him I see one of the little old ladies holding his arm and telling him he can't go out by himself. He then proceeds to kick her in the shins. Yes, you read that correctly, he kicked her in the shins! You should have seen the face of this other mom who was walking into the buidling. It was true horror and shock. Owen started crying of course, knowing he had done something very bad. I took him outside and he sat in time out until he had calmed down enough to go in and apologize. Needless to say, I did not get to enjoy the serenity of yoga that I so badly needed, and instead took my little hellian home.

Some pictures of Owen in his Squeaky Sneakers gym class and his Gymnastics class. He also took a class called Totally Toddlers, which is like preschool that Nana and Papa signed him up for his birthday.

Made With Love: by Aunt Ginny

This should really be a series of blog posts of things MADE WITH LOVE for Owen and Teagan, as they have been blessed with incredible gifts from talented friends and family. For now, here are some pictures I took the other day of a special blanket made by my Aunt Ginny. Thank you Aunt Ginny! As you can see Teagan enjoys it as much as we do, and we use it on a daily basis.

Below is Teagan's new scrunched up smile. I love it when she discovers a new facial expression.

We love our beautiful little girl and her blanket made with love!

Mother's Day Weekend

After Tatiana's baby shower, we met Mimi and Grumpa in Worcester for dinner at Block 5 Bistro, which is becoming a Mother's Day tradition. Dinner was delicious and it was fun to all go out together. Then we headed up to their house to spend the night and hang out.
The picture below is me trying to sneak a picture of Mike's new look. For the first time in 31 years he has facial hair! I think it looks really cute and I'll have to take a better picture for the blog later.

On Sunday, after Bruce and Mike made us omelets, we had fun relaxing around the house and playing with the animals outside. Here are a few pics of Mimi walking Moonbeam.

Grumpa is building a new stable for Moonbeam, which you can see in the background. So we went for rides on the lift that he is borrowing from his neigbhor.

I hope everyone's Mother's Day was as relaxing and wonderful as mine.

Tatiana's Baby Shower

I hosted a baby shower for my dear friend Tat this past weekend along with our friend O'Rya. It was a very nice afternoon shared with old girlfriends and new ones too.

Here is Tat in her beautiful pregnant sexiness!

Tat's neice Lilly playing with Teagan.

Willy-D's (Tat's husband), mom Betsy and sister Katie.

Tat opening presents. The T-shirt says "My First President".

Tat showing off her Mustela products, which we also use and swear by. A couple of our friends also use Mustela and we all told Tat she had to register for it, then when she was telling her mom about it Dominique said that was what she had always used on her and her sister. Tat's mom is from France and used to bring it back with her to the US before you could buy it here.

Sarah and Amy with Teagan.

Tat's sister Penelope.

O'Rya, Tat, and me holding the quilt I made for the shower. I made this quilt, inspired by Eric Carle's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the multi-colored furniture in the nursery, for everyone to write on during the shower. It turned out really cute and people wrote very nice things on it from a loving message, nursery rhyme, or poems, including a few in French. This was our gift to Tat along with the anniversary edition pop-up version of the book and a few other books. {I have a few finishing touches to make on the quilt and then I will post better pictures of it.}

It was such a nice day and a wonderful way to start Mother's Day weekend. We love you Tat and le petit Wildeman to be!

A Mother's Day Quote

Last week sometime Mike and Owen were watching TV and a comercial came on about Mother's Day.
Owen: (in an excited voice) "Daddy, we have to buy something for Mama!"
Mike: "What do you want to get her?"
Owen: (after really thinking about it for a minute or so, exclaims in an exagerated voice) "JEWELS!!!!"

A boy after my own heart!

The Circus

Last weekend we went to the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Baily Circus with Tatiana, her sister Penelope and daughter Lilly, and Tat's parents. Owen of course loved it and Teagan got excited a few times too. Mike and I enjoyed the show, although he wants me to mention that he still isn't sure about the treatment of animals at the circus in general. But we had great seats and the show really was amazing.
The Ring Master...

Owen unable to take his eyes off the show as he stuffs his mouth full of his first taste of cotton candy.

Daddy bought Owen a special light-up circus toy. Tons of fun!

This is the hat that the cotton candy bag came in. Teagan thought it was hilarious.

When we got home Owen and Teagan continued to enjoy his new toy. I love hearing them laugh so hard together.
