After months, and I mean months, of Owen going back and forth about what kind of birthday party he wanted, he finally decided Lego which I was more than happy to oblige. Daddy went on ebay and bought pounds of used Legos for nothing basically. I made a couple of my famous "pretty cakes", and we had a beautiful day to complete a perfectly fun yet low key birthday party. It was great!
Finally baby Landes is old enough for his turn to take a ride on Diesel.
Oh pretty Lego cakes!!!!
The kids loved the fact that the round parts on top of the cake were mini cupcakes and each quickly took one off. I don't know why I hadn't anticipated that, but it worked out well that they each got one.
Baby Kaia, isn't she adorable?! She is really starting to resemble big brother Aidan and daddy (pictured above). By the way, she is wearing one of Caitlin's baby dresses, so I guess Nana isn't the only one that saved them.
Now to Owen's favorite part... the gifts! He of course loved all of them, especially the Legos, but wanted to have his picture taken with the mask Uncle Timmy and Auntie Sadye sent him. Thanks for the violent, noise making, chinese star and dagger shooting, sword and scary mask. He loves it!
But of course one of the best gifts, that is always highly anticipated, is the one made by Grumpa Bruce.
On a side note, I have successfully rid the family room of all toys except the beautifully made wood ones from Grumpa Bruce. Now whenever the kids want to play with something they bring that particular bin down from their room, play, and take it away. So far it has been working for a couple of months. Yeah!
On behalf of the Big 4 Year Old O, thanks for another great birthday!
