LITTLE T

Teagan Wyllie Willard is here!!!!
Wednesday morning at 8:32 we were blessed, and kind of shocked, with a beautiful little girl. Although I had a feeling it was a girl, the entire pregnancy I/we just assumed it was another boy. Either way, we couldn't be happier! She is adorable, very sweet already, and nursing with no problems. She weighed exactly 8 lbs 11 oz, which I think is funny because Owen weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was a week or so earlier. She and Owen were both also 21" long. The nurses called her a little Butter Ball because she was so round and plump when she first came out and being so close to "Turkey" day.

She has a full head of thick hair.

When Owen first came into the hospital room to meet his new little sister, I couldn't have written a more adorable script. He was very excited, asked if he could touch her and then wanted everyone in the room to meet her and touch her too. He was extremely gentle and explained to everyone (the grandparents) that they had to be careful.

We have so much to thank God for on this Thanksgiving Day!!!!
On our way to the hospital Mike called to let them know he wouldn't be in that day. Then when he called to give them the good news they announced Teagan's birth over the loud speaker. Mike's student teacher put this video together and sent it to us before the end of the day.
We are very thankful for the love and support we have already received from everyone and can't wait for you all to meet her.

Still waiting...

I went to the doc again this afternoon and she said she couldn't believe she was seeing me in her office. Some are predicting I'm having a girl, because "she" is a stubborn little one coming into this world when she's ready. I have no idea, but know that we are all ready to meet Baby T. I am still 3 1/2 cm dilated with contractions coming and going, but nothing consistant. My parents are here now joining in on the waiting game, which is fun for Owen. We have an appointment to induce next Tuesday if it doesn't happen before then. Pray for us, wish us luck, do a little dance, whatever you think will help to get things going. Until then, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Baby T Update

Everyone keeps asking me when I am going to have this baby, as if I can really predict what is going to happen. All I know is that we are ready, me especially, for baby T to join us. It is an interesting journey playing this waiting game, knowing that Owen was already born at this stage, and having the doctor give me her prediction of the next 48 hours. {That was Monday morning at 9:45 by the way.} At that point I was 3 1/2 cm dilated and I have been having contractions periodically. So, no baby yet, no idea when it is coming either, but an abundance of love and joy is waiting patiently from many friends and family members to surround this baby once it finally arrives!

The Letter T

As it gets closer now to baby #2 being here, the pressure is on to establish names. Although we have a couple of good possibilities for both boys and girls, there isn't one of each that we just have to have. Because we found out that I was pregnant three days after my oldest sister, Tricia, passed away, we decided that the baby's name should start with the initial T in honor of her. I love this idea, but it makes the already challenging task of naming someone that much harder by limiting yourself to an initial. So, I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions for names. Feel free to post a comment with your favorite T names for both boys and girls. Keep in mind that we do not want something common.

Sewing Project #2

The bag that we use to put dirty diapers in got caught in the dryer, making a few holes in the waterproof lining, which you can imagine is not a good thing. So I decided to try and make one myself. I bought waterproof fabric called PUL, a fun green zipper, some elastic for a handle, and then I made a little patch out of some fabric samples that I had to make the earth. Because after all, that is what we are trying to save by using cloth diapers, isn't it?!

Angela found this sweater that Grammy Helen had made either for Mike or Uncle Timmy. It fits Owen perfectly now. I love it!

Happy Halloween

Our little fireman was very excited for Halloween, although he really didn't know what to expect. We went over to our friends Brian, (aka Willy D), and Tat's new house to be a part of their neighborhood parade, go trick o' treating, have an autumnal potluck, and pass out candy to the tons of kids that came. It was a very fun evening and Owen loved every minute of it! Above is the little man ready to go, and below he is standing in front of their house with Mike and Willy D who were also acting like excited little kids.

All the "kids" lining up for the parade.

At first Owen just stood there not knowing what to think of the different costumes, but then he saw a policeman so he had to go over and introduce himself. After that he made sure that everyone knew his name, which he now says Owen Wyllie Willard, not just Owen.

I think he liked passing out the candy to all of the kids more than anything else. He also made sure that they all knew his name. He was very excited to have met so many superheros and other cool people.
