I often make random Christmas presents for friends and family, but this year except for a few presents, everything was homemade. Owen loved helping me with my different projects, especially the chocolate bark. Besides wanting to "test" the chocolate for me, he genuinely wanted to help. I appreciated this and also enjoyed having some one on one time, which can be hard to find these days. We spent an entire day making chocolate bark, vanilla bath salts, herb salt, stringing thai chilies from a plant we received from one of Mike's students to dry, picking pictures for photo ornaments, and felting old sweaters that I made mittens out of. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun! Thanks for all the help big guy.
The next day we went to the high school to make a gingerbread house for a fundraiser they were having. Teagan ended up sleeping the entire time we were there so we had a little more Owen and Mama time. It was so much fun. We ate candy while sipping hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music. When we were done making our house, Owen wanted to dance to the music. So we did even though no one else was, and then he found an open spot in the cafeteria and did some of his "cool tricks". He loves to do these moves that are kind of like break dancing. It's hilarious and very cute. Oh to have the self confidence of a 3 1/2 year old with no inhibitions.
